War and Peace arrives at Geneva Airport

There was a special moment at Geneva Airport last week as a real piece of history arrived to much fanfare and heavy guard.

Famous Book Pages arrive at Geneva Airport

6 pages of the legendary book “War and Peace” by Tolstoy were safely transported from Moscow inside a metal briefcase.

Nadezhda Petrova of the Tolstoy Museum was entrusted with the job.

She spoke warmly of Tolstoy saying he was a man who proposed peaceful means to conflict. The Guerre Et La Paix exhibition is taking place and the pages are sure to take pride of place.

Still just as Important today

The writing has as much meaning today as it did back then and it is the first time they have left Moscow.
